Web design. Branding. Marketing. AI. that brings you more customers.
Currently taking on new projects for this fall
Most small businesses already have a website. It’s just slow, a bit dated and doesn’t really look like the business you’ve actually built.
You know it. You just haven’t had the time to deal with it, or you’re assuming a fix is a bigger job than it’s worth. There’s a specific sting to hearing “oh, I couldn’t find you,” especially when they mention who they found instead.
That’s fixable, and it’s a smaller job than it used to be. We work faster than a typical studio, which means more of the project goes into the work itself and less into overhead.
Built here For here
Two decades of combined design and development experience, most of it at the enterprise level, building for national and global brands. We grew up in Kingston and wanted to point that experience at the businesses in it and around it, after years of building portfolio pieces for places we’d never been.
Downtown Kingston
How it works
A call
Twenty minutes on your business and what you need from a website. We tell you honestly if we’re a fit.
A scoped, fixed quote
One itemized number with a launch date attached, usually within two days.
Design, in rounds
You react to real iterations of the real site on a private link, at the checkpoints agreed in the quote.
We publish
The site goes live on your domain, set up to be found, and all of it is in your name.
What we do
Four things that work best together. Start with the one you need most.
Web development
New sites and rebuilds. Fast, mobile-first, easy to find and built so you can edit the words yourself. If your current site still technically works but hasn’t been touched in years, we keep what’s working and rebuild the rest.
- Design, build and launch, handled end to end
- Your content and web address stay put on a rebuild
- No lock-in: site and domain registered in your name
Branding
The part people recognize before they read a word: a logo that works at any size, with colours and type that hold up in print and on a phone, written down so everything you make afterwards matches.
- Logo (a new one or a small refresh of your current logo), colours, type and how they go together
- A brand sheet you can hand to a printer or a sign maker
- Suggestions on what design assets might help your business the most
Marketing
Getting your business found once the site is live. Design that’s made to be found.
- Google Business Profile and local search set up properly
- Ad campaigns, social media posts, whatever you need
- We can even do traditional print ads if you’re old fashioned like that.
AI consulting
We were building with machine learning years before the chatbot boom, which means we can tell you plainly what AI will and won’t do for your business. Then we set up only the pieces that earn their keep.
- Straight answers on what’s worth doing, from people who did this pre-hype
- Automation for the jobs that eat your week, like quote requests and booking follow-ups
- An honest “no” when AI isn’t the answer
Things people usually ask
How much does a project cost?
It depends on what you need, so we don’t publish a number that would be wrong for most people. What we do instead: a free twenty-minute call, then one itemized quote with a launch date attached. That number is fixed before any work starts, and nothing gets added to it later without you agreeing first.
How long does it take?
Two weeks to a month, depending on the size of the project.
Do you only work with Kingston businesses?
Kingston is home, and most of the businesses we talk to are close by: Belleville, Napanee, Gananoque, Brockville, Sydenham, the villages around Frontenac County. Nothing about how we work is tied to a location, though. Calls, preview links and handover all work the same whether you’re down the street or across the country. If you like how we work, we’d love to help.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The site, the domain and the login are yours. You can leave any time. Nothing here locks you in.
Do hosting and my domain come out of the same quote?
No, they’re separate and they’re yours, registered in your name, on accounts you control. We’ll help you set both up and explain exactly what each one is for before you commit to anything.
Do I need to provide the content and photos myself?
Just the basics: what your business does, in your own words, and any good photos you already have. We write the rest, and if your photos need help, we’ll say so upfront.
Can you make my website multilingual?
Yes. Goldwin speaks fluent French and Holly holds her own, so a French version gets a real check from us before you ever see it. Translation tools handle the first pass and you get the final read, since nobody knows how your business should sound better than you do. Other languages work too. Neither of us can read them, so more of the proofing lands with you, and we’ll be honest about that trade-off from the start.
Can you build an accessible website?
Yes, we build to WCAG AA, and AAA where a project calls for it. Most small businesses aren’t required to meet a compliance standard, but there are plenty of good reasons to want one anyway, personal ones included. Fair warning: full compliance takes real extra design and development work, and we’ll tell you what that adds before anything starts. If it’s more than the project can carry, there’s a middle path that gets you most of the way, like a proper reading order for screen readers and colours and text that stay legible for low-vision visitors.
My current site still technically works, is it really worth fixing?
A site can work and still be costing you customers. If people are quietly choosing a competitor because yours loads slowly or looks dated, the damage is already happening. You just haven’t seen the moment it happened.
What if I need changes later?
We can handle ongoing updates if you want that, or hand everything over and let you take it from there. Your call.
